Connoisseurs meets at the Noble again

The regular meeting of Connoisseur Club took place on December, 15. Connoisseurs went to the Noble restaurant for the second time to check if the restaurant is still as good as three years ago, when it received 4.8 and became a TUCC five-star restaurant. It was an event in December, therefore, besides appraising the restaurant, the Club also celebrated Christmas.

The evening started with welcome drink sponsored by NAI Pickard and Pilsner Ukraine followed by the Sumethai Roll with Italian Pinot Crigio. In fact, all the wines for the evening selected by the restaurant’s sommelier, Yuri Kiriljuk, where excellent and were highly appreciated by the guests - all of them received 5-star rating. Salad with a hot meat carpaccio served with a traditional Italian red, Valpolicella, won everybody’s heart before the next wonder was served. The buyabess Soup (Sardinian Recipe) turned out to be the absolute champion of the evening and Chardonnay that accompanied it complemented the soup perfectly.

Before the main dish the Members had a singing competition - every table had to sing one of the Christmas carols they could chose from the sheets they were all given at the beginning of the evening. The prize from the TUCC Honorary Chairman for the evening, Paul Niland - a bottle of real Irish whiskey - was won by a Ukrainian table who song a rousing version of the English Christmas favourite “Jingle Bells”.

Marble steak with mushroom risotto served with Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva was cooked medium rare for all diners. The restaurant chef offered the Connoisseurs who prefer their steaks well done to cook it some more but the steak was so delicious that it was gone from all the plates in no time at all. Our compliments go to the chef Yuri Letuchiy - young, but obviously a very talented guy.

Before the desert the Honorary Chairman read some obligatory jokes, this time, understandably about Christmas. When the desert arrived - a huge cheesecake decorated with white chocolate lilies and huge sign “Merry Christmas TUCC” - everybody went ecstatic and loud applauses broke the evening.

Unfortunately, the restaurant was marked 4.4, which means it is now becomes a TUCC three star restaurant due to poor service. The food and wine were definitely up to 5-star standard, but the timing and service let them down on the night.

It's highly recommend everybody to try the new menu by Noble’s Chef but be prepared that the service may not be up to the cuisine.
